Help! Power reserve seems off

So I’ve noticed that if I don’t wear this one for less than a day it stops, but I thought it had up 48 hours of power reserve. It’s still under warranty, so should I send it back or how should I test it prior to sending it in? Thanks

Automatic watches charge/wind themselves with the movement of your arm. If you are wearing it but not moving your arms enough... Maybe, it just wasn't fully wound when you left it on the table.

To assure that it's working fine, wind it manually, leave it on the table, and see if it lasts the expected 48h.

Can you hand wind it? Do so as fully as you dare and leave it off your wrist to see how long it lasts. If you get 45 hours or so out of it then that's probably fine - think power reserve always involves a bit of guesswork from the manufacturer TBH. If it's really only 24 hours then it probably needs looking at.

Give it a really good manual wind with the crown (approx 80/90 turns). Then check how long it runs. If its less than 48 hours it might be worth getting it checked over.

Isn’t fully wound?

Isn’t fully wound?

How do I know if it’s fully wound?

·

Yea, I hear the rotor moving

Give it 40 full turns. What people tend to do, rotate the crown “40 times”, but they’re not full turns. Give it 40-50 and it should be fully wound.

If I have an automatic and I want to fully wind it I give it 60 good turns of the crown just to be sure it’s fully wound. You can’t overwind an automatic but you can underwind when checking power reserve.

I’d use the warranty if the above recommendations don’t work. I have the same watch that was doing the same thing, brought it in for service and it needed a new main spring.

@jordi.nunez @Johnnyr1970 @Mark_D67 @askinner @DH_NYC @Watch_Dude_410 @rwell48 wound it 70 turns and kept it off wrist. Lasted until tonight at 11:10pm it stopped. 37+ hours total. That’s 10 hours less than expected. That normal?

I would send it in for service.

I’d say that’s not right, send it for repair.

I would contact with an Omega Shop and ask them. I would service it, but they will advise you better than me.

Wind it fully. Set it down and see how long it runs. If much less then 48h, ship it!

No, that’s normal for power reserve to be off by 10 hours. It indicates that something isn’t right within the movement, unfortunately.
