My History With The Citizen Promaster Diver Automatic NY0040-50W
Going back a few years ago when I was starting to get serious about watch collecting, I bought this watch but I bought the one with the rubber band and I hated it. HATED IT. I just did not like how the watch looked on me (looked too small IMO) and I never thought about changing the strap on it and all of that so I retuned it. Shortly after I returned it, prices for this watch started to skyrocket. I was hearing through the grapevine that this watch was discontinued (which I am not too sure but I THINK that it has already) and they are hard to get nowadays. Anyway, life went on.
I was on Ebay a few weeks ago and I saw the same watch but with a stainless strap brand new from some shop in Italy (why Italy? I have no idea. They could have at least sent me some pasta or something lol!) So I went ahead and bought it. Also, I saw a video on Youtube of a review for this watch. This watch hacks and it's not a bad watch at all. I did notice that the guy bought a new strap from AliExpress that looks better than the OEM so I got it for like $10. I put it altogether, took it to a jeweler near by, they took out some links and voila! It fits! I will post the video that I was talking about that shows all of the specs and the link to the strap that I bought. I do like the reverse variant too. I know that there are other watches with much brighter lume but, I decided to get this one before prices skyrocket again and it may be harder to get this variant.

Always loved this model, but I ended up getting the coke bezel version. It’s crazy to me that this watch is literally 42mm wide but looks as small as it does.

They definitely bent physics on this one.
I also bought this model from Italy within the past year. I think they were discontinued but restarted production for certain markets with the hacking 8204 hacking movement and it’s very hard to find. They were made for years with the 8203 non hacking movement though.
