It doesn't rotate freely inside itself, though the watch itself is a sphere and each side's crystal in a half sphere. It hangs on the chain upside down so you can wear it around your neck and look down to read the time. This one still works and keeps time. I am not familiar with other watches of this vintage that have transparent casebacks / visible movements.... it's a keeper for sure.

This is the best Oris.

commented on Gold Plated Steel…is it a “poser” watch? ·

In the case of the yellow Tissot prx, it's not afraid to be what it is and strikes me too as something worn in irony and with humor.... I imagine lots of people have had a lot of fun wearing that watch.

But even on a more serious note, I like the look of an all gold plated or filled watch in some situations over the steel (notably in vintage or more dress style watches), and I like that it can be achieved inexpensively and tastefully at the same time.

I doubt anybody is fooling, or even trying to fool, anybody with these watches. Gold plating has been a norm and a style for 100+ years now. I really doubt a mugger will go after a yellow Tissot over a much more understandably worn to impress steel Rolex or Grand Seiko.

I wear a moonphase to remind me of my wife's menstruation cycle. She can be a hair trigger at the wrong time... and I'll have her right where I want her at the right time. 😂
