I think this is going to be a keeper (rant about my purchasing process)

To be honest, I find it nice, but this is not my favorite design. I would say it looks good enough.

But I don't consider beauty to be the only feature that matters.

I had been looking for a GADA, which I plan to use for sport activities, DIY, as well as for work (I never dress too formal either).

I have failed (as my previous posts describe), but at least with try and error I think I learned a lot on watches and what was important for me.

So the watch shall look good, but also, for what I need :

  • be very comfortable (= forgettable when worn), which is probably translates, most of the time, by a low profile in terms of design : small enough for one wrist, and quite thin ;

  • be light : when I run with it, it must stay stable on the wrist and I don't want to feel it ;

  • be versatile : it must work with various straps (leather, rubber, fabric or steel), so that I can quickly change of strap depending on my activity ;

  • be waterproof enough to swim with it (just gentle swimming, not diving or skiing) : which translates by a water resistance of at least 10 ATM (screw down crown being optional in my opinion for that matter) ;

  • be robust : so most of the case must be brushed, at least, and the glass be in sapphire ;

  • be fast and easy to read in any light condition, bright or dark (so clear hands, marks and strong lume).

That said, the watches that can check all this cases have more chance to be in the field or tool category, or maybe pilot, or somewhere between.

I have been very surprised and impressed by the specifications of this Baltic watch.

It even makes well some extra details :

  • AR coating is only under the glass (better scratch resistance) ;

  • Recessed crown can be debated but at least it is very well protected ;

  • Ultra powerful lume.

That's why, so far, I am very happy.

But, of course, I would be interested to learn there are alternatives, maybe with a more traditional dial (white hands on dark dial).

The Hamilton Kaki Field looks very close, and I prefer it in terms of aesthetics, but the 5 ATM water resistance is a show stopper to me.

I think it looks great! I particularly like the indices and leather nato.
