Promotion watch within $AU5000
Hey my fellow watch nerd!
I will most likely have the pleasure of getting a promotion at work to engineering manager. So a few boundary conditions to let people's imagination not run wild: lug-to-lug limitation to around 49mm, i have a lot of customer meetings but the company itself has a "uniform" if you choose which is usually black or navy blue tshirt. And I also need to either travel to OR work with Germany.

Can I suggest the Tudor black bay pro? About 3.4 k in the UK. Gmt obviously so useful to you for that. Great build quality and retro looks. We'll within budget. Only potential downside is it is on the larger side both thickness and lugs.
A GMT would be a good addition. Longines Spirit Zulu Time would a great addition and it should be under AUD 5000 considering it retails between $2900-3100. Plus you always get a good discount from Longines AD. Great all round specs.
At retail, the Tudor Black Bay GMT is out of your self-imposed price range. But I would explore how much you could get one for on one of those trips to Germany.
