2023 Black Bay 36
Finally got to try on the new Black Bay 36! My brother had the previous version (w/ ETA movement) which I deemed the perfect alternative to the Rolex Explorer. This 2023 version is quite different, new movement, case seems visually slimmer, new jubilee bracelet feels lighter (and looks considerably more dressy), and new dial design (different text on the bottom, sun ray dial, gilt text on anthracite dial), improved clasp adjustment. Compared to the Rolex Explorer 124270, it’s more casual (due to the dial) yet dressy (due to the bracelet) at the same time. I know it sounds paradoxical, but that the immediate vibe I felt when I tried it on.

I like it but I’m on the fence for the dial. I think it would suit a mat dial more somehow. The sunburst looks too dressy for what could otherwise be a good tool-vibe watch, with enough dressyness brought in with the jubilee bracelet.
Maybe I’m mad though 🤷🏻♂️
Increased price aswell, I bought the original BB36 new for around £2k, new one is £3400

Agree, prefer a nice matte black dial with the gilt print since it would give a nice vintage look to it. The current anthracite dial goes from dark grey to brown in certain lights which looks cool in one way but distracting in another

That £3400 Tudor sure looks a lot like my $200 Seiko SRPE53...or maybe the Seiko looks a lot like the Tudor 😉

I was quite surprised when Tudor copied my SRPE design when the new gen Black By came out 😂😂
But in all seriousness: I might be getting the BB36 this year 😉
