Bang for buck Swiss watches

I am going to Switzerland this summer as I have lots of family over there, and I'm saving to get a nice new pride of my collection as a present to myself (I will have just finished my exams), can anyone recommend the best bang for buck Swiss brands that aren't Swatch? I have a Tissot PRC200 already, and that's as far as the Swiss watches in my collection goes. I'm a student, only working part-time, so as much bang for the buck as possible, and brands that are obtainable on part-time salary. Many thanks!

Alpina is an underrated brand you can very often find for a good price. Raymond Weil is another overlooked independent brand at probably a higher price. If you could get past the Swatch connection, Certina is a bang-for-buck brand that is hard to beat. Best of luck in your searching!

I don't mind the Swatch connection (I own a Tissot already), it's just that I was kinda foreseeing a lot of replies saying "Swatch are the best bang for the buck", when obviously as a nice watch to last a while they're not what I want. I'll look at the brands you've mentioned, briefly seen Alpina before and was definitely considering them so I'll take another look, cheers!

If you’re looking for a really good bang for buck I can highly recommend Atlantic Watches. Good quality that won’t break the bank.

Some others worth a look are:

Alpina, Atlantic, Bomberg, Certina, Hamilton, Mido, Mathey-Tissot, Revue Thommen, Squale, Tissot, Zeno-Watch Basel and Zodiac.
