G-Shock Square Full Conversion Kit - Money Well Spent!

Let's get one thing straight, I can respect what G-Shock stands for, but I'm not a G-Shock collector; I bought my solar atomic G-Shock Square (GW-M5610) for a total utilitarian purpose as a beater watch but never used it because it was such a contrast in weight/feel compared to my higher end watches. I wore it occasionally, but most of the time it stayed near my other watches used as a time reference to set my other watches when needed.

Fast-forward to the last month, when I went on a bracelet swapping rampage to achieve higher levels of comfort, aesthetic pleasure, and/or worry-free daily wear and tear for many of my more expensive watch bracelets, I got to thinking about my unused G-Shock and how I could get more use out of it. I had seen the metal G-Shocks when they came out but never looked deep enough to see the retail price for them, and that's when I said "$600!?!?"

During my Youtube research, I also came across people's review of their aftermarket conversion kits and this intrigued me to the point of finally signing up for an Ali Express account where I discovered the endless amount of options to convert my unused G-Shock. Just to have complete fun with it, I bought the all "gold" version and eventually received it  3.5-weeks later (excruciatingly long compared to the much faster shipping we now feel entitled to).

After installing and fitting it to my wrist, it fit like a glove and I honestly can't see why one would want to spend the full $600 (retail) vs $60 (and sometimes less as prices fluctuate) + $90 (base GW-5610 watch), when the differences are almost minuscule when it comes to the Metal G-Shock case and bracelet. Sure, it doesn't have the bluetooth connectivity, but I didn't want that anyway. And Sure, staying pure to the brand through and through becomes an issue when and if you resell a watch down the road, but who's doing that with a $90 G-Shock, especially when you can convert it back to it's original spec?

I'm honestly curious who Casio is targeting with these $600 G-Shocks? Please share your thoughts!
