Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

As a child I always wanted to wear watches, primarily because I felt it completed who I am. A Timex Quartz gifted by my grandfather was the first legit watch I had ever used. During my school days I wore a few fakes of Tag Heur and Tissot 😅 The most technical watch I first got was a Casio “Twincept” Databank world time (ABX series) — it has a floating digital display over an illuminator based quartz face. Really loved the watch but it broke (cracked screen leading to LCD leak) during one of my school related shenanigans. During college I was not wearing watches because of the rough and tough schedule which included public transpoet travel and sports. I bought my first “Proper” watch when I started working in 2005 - Citizen Ecodrive E870. It’s still going on 18 years strong. Over time I have bought mainly quartz watches. I’m looking to buy my first automatic. Currently have a GShock, Seiko Sportura and Tissot 1853 T-Classic quartz along with a few fashion watches (Fossil and Giordano).

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

Timex quartz (don’t remember the model) was a simple dual colour dial (silver inner circle, bluenouter circle) with date function.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Buy what suits your style and philosophy

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Baltic, Farer, Hamilton, Grand Seiko, Bangalore Watch Co

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Grand Seiko Spring (Cherry Blossom) , just the dial is sufficient for reason.
