NATO Strap slim fit

I love my NATO straps but had fit and comfort issues with them. After some research I stumbled on a couple videos from Nordic Watch Channel and especially IDGuy to learn new ways to wear my NATOs for a slimmer look and arguably better fit.

The images I posted utilize the method IDGuy published 6yrs on YouTube and it completely fixes all the issues with fit, comfort and excess bulk I had with my NATO straps. I bet there are others who could benefit from this information so there it is. Links below

everyone just cuts the straps to convert to single pass. They come in softer materials that are more comfortable than seat belt nylon. They wear out and frey easily so i replace them often. Comfort is everything or you just pick a different watch to wear.

I never went back after learning this proper technique.

In your experience, is this better than just buying a single pass strap, or cutting a double to convert it to a single pass strap?

Good question. This is my first NATO strap so all I have experience with is trying to improve the fit and comfort of this one. I would have to experiment with the other options to know for sure.

What’s nice about this method is I have more ways to wear my NATO, since a single pass or converted double pass have fewer options by default.
