I didn't waste any time this year getting my beak wet with a new piece. I've been lusting after this Nomos since shortly after I got my Tangente more than 2 years ago. I'd always admired the Metro since I first saw one online. However, none of the ones that I saw quite hit the spot until I found the Silvercut! This one jumped out at me right away and shortly went on my long wishlist, though the price for a new one was more than I'd ever spent on a watch, even from a gray market dealer. I decided to bite the bullet and save up for one. A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time as JShop had them at as good a price as I'd seen, and I'd had good experiences with them. Before making the purchase, I decided to check around the usual places and see if a better price could be had on one in excellent condition. Amazingly, I got lucky and found one reasonably priced on another forum. I sent him the money and he promptly sent me the watch.
I still can't quite believe I have it on my wrist after wanting it so long. It's in beautiful condition, exactly as promised. I've already ordered a bespoke strap for it. The Nomos strap is nice, but I prefer making my own match. After I get the strap, I'll do a complete review.
For now, I'll just say that it's a Nomos. For those who, like myself, have a passion for the incredible workmanship of the brand, it's as expected, like my Tangente. As a Metallurgical Engineer (retired), the proprietary 7-step process to create the striated dial is a big draw, and I like the unique design. While remaining very simple, nothing else looks like a Nomos.
