I've never handled a Mathey Tissot, but I know the PRX has a plastic escapement with no jewels so it won't have a long lifespan
Mathey tissot is just terrible fake crap

The powermatic 80 has 23 jewels.

He's not even talking about the automatic, he's comparing to the cheaper PRX quartz

Yes, but the pallet fork (which is made of plastic) has zero, there are no jewels in the escapement

Haha, well there's your first mistake: assuming I'm paying attention! 😂

I’m not worried. It’s been a workhorse movement so far.

Not at all actually. Mathey Tissot has been around for a very long time and have some excellent watches in their collection. They do have their fair share of Rolex look a likes but their certainly not fakes and their not on their own in using the crown for inspiration.
If you want to go even cheaper, you can always get something like a Pagani https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EJhBlgV
Or San Martin if you want better quality https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EjjUvoN
Otherwise just get the real Tissot.
I would stay away from the Mathey brand. I doubt they come even close to Tissots quality.

I have read people say that the reasoning behind the plastic is because the material Eta uses self-lubricates. I have no source for this, but I will try to find one. It would be nice to read some more professional insight on this—or better yet have Eta itself comment on the reasoning behind the plastic escapement in the CO7.111 Powermatic 80. It’s definitely a topic for an outlet such as Hodinkee to some journalism on.
However they do cite a watchmaker from a comment in their “ Hands-On The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, Now (Finally) In 35mm” article, who states that the composite basically reduces friction.
