SEIKO 7T34-6A00 "Pilot's Flight Alarm Chronograph"

This vintage SEIKO 7T34-6A00 is a precursor of the later and extremely popular SNA "Flightmaster" series from the Japanese behemoth.

It is a true pilot's watch. However, its official name, "SEIKO Pilot's Flight Alarm Chronograph", might have been catchier.

It is presented in a case that is 40.5 mm in diameter and which combines brushed and polished finishing. It seems smaller on the wrist, mainly due to a moderate "lug-to-lug" length of 44.5 mm and a height of just 11 mm. Overall, it has an extremely versatile size, making it highly wearable.

It also has 20 mm between the lugs, a standard size that allows many strap combinations.

It has a double bezel. The outer one is bidirectional, while the inner one is fixed. The combination serves as an E6B slide rule,  or "flight computer".

Under the slightly domed mineral glass there is a black dial with four sub-registers in a 12-3-6-9 configuration with the following functions:

1. 30 minute chronograph counter.
2. Date.
3. GMT/dual time or alarm.
4. Running seconds.

The dial offers yellow accents on the tips of the handset and a bright green chronograph seconds hand.

Overall, the 7T34-6A00 is an impressive quartz chronograph from the 1990s.

Thanks for sharing! I just picked up a gold/black version of this watch and it's been amazing so far.

The only issue is that the small green chrono hand doesn't line up properly at 12. I've been trying to look online for a 7T34 manual to reset the chrono hand, but can't find one in English.

Any chance you have a manual, or know how to reset the green chrono hand to 12?

@sammwho

The 7T34 manuals are hard to find. There is a dutch copy often found on the internet. But, the operation is the same as for the 7T32...

Basically, extract the main crown to its outmost position (2 clicks). Use the top right pusher to align the chrono minute hand. Use the top left pusher to align the chrono seconds hand. Reinsert the crown when finished. Reset the time if necessary. That's it.

Yeah, I’ve seen the Dutch copy everywhere and sometimes the Japanese version, but English ones can’t be found!

Thanks so much for tip. I’ll give it a try and see if I can also find the 7T32 manual.

Appreciate it! 🙏
