I haven’t been able to take off my Casiotron since picking it up last week. It’s just such a delightful watch.
It’s a near perfect digital watch. It’s a good size (wears like a 37mm watch). Solid legibility (as usual for positive displays). Respectable specs (this is what the 40th anniv G-Shock should have been, tough solar and multiband 6). Great build quality, it feels much more robust vs the typical Casio digital.
Main downsides are: it’s really shiny and smudge-prone. And mineral glass - I can understand using a mineral for a G-Shock as they’re less likely to shatter but surely Casio could have put in a sapphire at this price point 🤷🏻. The special edition A1000 had a piece of sapphire and that was priced less than half this Casiotron.
I hope Casio goes all out this year and release a few more anniversary pieces (A700 please!) or even an analog watch. My wallet is ready to 💸haha.
