NWA: Another Impulse Buy
Being in Manila for the 1st PH WC Meetup and while browsing my favorite local ebay counterpart, I chanced upon this listing. I thought that since I am in town why not meet with the seller and checkout this rare piece, the Zodiac SSW "Reefline".
A departure from the usual Zodiac colorful combinations. The simplicity and minimalism is what caught my attention. I am usually a sucker for contrast. But there was something warm about this seemingly monotone combo except for the teal triangles on the cardinal numerals and the blue canvass strap. Dateless dial contributes to its perfect symmetry. Just unusually simple in a very good way IMHO that truly attracted me to the piece.
So the day after the meetup I set an appointment with the seller on the way back home which he agreed to on short notice. Then it happened, there it was -- mint condition! I just couldn't resist. The seller's determined push also didn't help any. Dropping his asking price even lower than I would have hoped for! So what am I to do?? Somehow, I am certain this is a decision that will prove difficult to regret.
