We've all heard about the venerable Casio Royale and how it's such an amazing watch. I've looked at it multiple times but somehow managed to avoid adding it to my collection. I guess I was going through the analog and mechanical watches phase and wasn't too interested in a digital watch.
Off lately, I've been looking at GMTs to be able to track timezones across the globe where I have friends and relatives. (I'm in the UK. My family is in India and I have relatives in NZ and the US).
I explored GMTs, understood office and true GMTs but none fit my purpose and most importantly my budget - I collect affordable watches. There were a few GMTs in my budget but apparently they can't track time differences of 30 mins.
Going through all this, I revised the Casio Royale and thought why not. What could go wrong in £26.
I anyways didn't have a digital watch in my collection (I have the Casio oak but it's majorly analog dial). I also went for the bronze color since I didn't have that too.
The watch arrived a few minutes back and what a revelation it is! Such a simple thing but with so much character and utility. It wears extremely comfortable and the bronze color looks really good. The backlight is also surprisingly good (unlike an A158 I had many years back).
Most importantly, by a click of a button, I am able to switch between 4 time zones. That's amazing!
Overall, I think it's a masterpiece for this kind of money. Simple, functional and most importantly - joyful!

I love mine too, the bronze one goes great on a burgundy leather Vario strap.

Oh yes! I'm planning to get a leather strap for this. Thanks for the suggestion
You can never go wrong with the Royale.
