NWA: Projects Watches - "Persistent"
So this came today from an order before Thanksgiving. A whacky inexpensive (sold out) art watch, which actually wears quite well - if a bit loud. It's Japanese quartz, has 30m WR, and is probably mineral crystal. I didn't buy it for the specs.
This watch, directly inspired by Josef Albers' Homage to the Square, brings a piece of art history to the wrist with a design that features laser-cut layers of color. That's a great looking watch - I love the 3 dimensional look, and how that impacts the shadows made by the hands. I'm a fan of color field paintings by artists like Albers & Rothko, so this one is something that I can see adding to my collection even though I'd probably never wear it.
