Alpinist Uncle Straps President Bracelet

Just received my President bracelet from Uncle Straps for my Seiko Prospex Alpinist. Not sure how I feel about it, tbh.

I like the bracelet itself and the taper.

The clasp is fine, for it being the vintage clasp.

The endlinks don't fit very well and the spring bars barely went in at all. Tried different spring bar thicknesses, no difference.

I was hoping to change the clasp for the Seiko one, but the taper is more than on the OEM bracelet, so it won't fit.

For the 80+€ I kind of would have expected a bit more from the end links especially.

Is there a difference that big between the SARB Alpinist and the Prospex Alpinist case, since this bracelet is for the SARB?

Is it just me or has anyone else had any similar experience? (With this veeeery specific issue 😂)

Although you say it doesn't fit that well, it looks great to me

I had similar feelings with my beads of rice for the Alpinist.

I loved the Alpinist as it was so versitile with straps but dreaded trying to remove the bracelet. However, after wearing the bracelet for a few days I've decided I love it and won't be taking it off the watch.

Ah yeah, the end links on your bracelet look just like mine. I was worried it was because my Alpinist wasn't the SARB Alpinist, but apparently that's normal then. I guess I'll probably get used to it.

Maybe I'm more critical atm, because I've been wearing my Longines Spirit the last few days and that watch is absolutely flawlessly built 😜

My $100 Strapcode bracelet is more rattly than my stock Seiko and Invicta bracelets. It has a better clasp and dlc vs pvd coating but the actual links are a tad loose

@Hjcurtiss11 might have some thoughts. I know he loves his but not sure how the end link fitment is.

I have a Strapcode Jubilee for my SPRE, and the end links fit really well, bracelet is super solid. Switched the clasp for the stock one and am really enjoying the wearing experience 👍

Nice! I got the same Strapcode Jubilee for my SPB089, but not a fan of the clasp. Where did you get your stock clasp from??

In reference to this bracelet ..does it feel cheap or heavier like a Omega piece?

The SARB case and the Prospex case are identical, if I’m not mistaken. I used the same spring bars from the leather my Prospex alpinist came on, and didn’t have issues with fitment.

My chief complaint with the bracelet is the stupid, utterly useless gap in the clasp when it’s on your wrist, it bothers me to no end. Otherwise- it has stood the test of time, camping, swimming, and more

The stock clasp from the SRPE bracelet fits perfectly on the Strapcode bracelet. Not the best clasp, but at least slimmer and lighter. I don't mind them being pressed, for some people that's a nogo

I think it's solidly built. I recon vintage inspired President bracelets are always going to be a bit more flexible. The links are held together by push pins, something I would expect Omega would do with screws. Links seem decently made, quite comfortable.

The only other president bracelet I have as a reference is a 22mm Strapcode president, and that's obviously way more sturdy, but the links are a lot bigger and there's no taper, so 22mm all round.

You mean this gap? As long as it's not on the watch face side 😂

Yeah, every time I look on Omegas website for a nice strap for my Railmaster, I immediately close the browser again. Find the prices unreasonable, tbh. 390€ for a nato strap and 870€ for a Milanese...
