The Heirloom Piece - Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1024

I’ve always been familiar with the tradition of a father passing down a watch to his son, but I never understood the power and connection a heirloom piece holds.

My dad passed away six years ago, and this watch had been sitting in a safety deposit box since. Once I started getting into watches, I asked my mom to retrieve it from the bank and give it to one of my good friends to bring it over when he was visiting.

As soon as it hit my wrist, a rush of emotions overcame me, random happy memories of seeing the watch on my father. A reminder of how much I missed him and how much he meant to me.

Thank you for everything and thank you for having such dope taste.

Your simple story kills me, I have been the unlucky family member to remove my dad’s Rolex OP from his wrist and years later his Breitling Chronomat from my older brother’s wrist. I decided to offer the nostalgic items to other family members, I would require no physical reminders of the two most important men in my life.

Wear it with joy, knowing your father is watching over you.
