Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I have been interested in watches all my life. When I was a child I received many as gifts because people knew about them too. Now, in my 30s, I'm back through a Casio and wanting to wear something that identifies me.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I don't remember as a child but I'm sure I had a lot of Casios and Calypsos. As a significant watch, I would say the Seiko Sports that started it all.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not yet
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't fall into the snobbery of the automatic, there are wonderful quartz models that will be more accessible. And of course, don't go into debt buying a watch.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Micro brands such as Nivada, Peren, Zelos... Of course I am also keeping a close eye on Longines discounts, as well as being a big fan of Tissot and looking for a Citizen to add to my collection.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Maybe it's too cliché but I have to go with the Rolex Explorer 36mm. For me, not only do I think it's a beautiful watch, but it also means reaching a much deeper target.
