Please tell me I will love more than the color…

I saw a post on here of a gorgeous purple Grand Seiko, so obviously down the rabbit hole I went. I discovered this. I am not familiar with the brand, but thought some of you might be. I tend to buy things that I like the color of, but have learned to look deeper. What do you know? Is it good quality? Do they last? Any good?

I have no idea about the brand but that dial is fantastic!

Not sure but are you the Mrs Mac Hine who won the motorcycle/scooter?

Thank you (for both)!

I do love that dial… Im still searching for this as well… the lavender sunburst is so nice … I personally don’t know the brand though…

Good luck with the search!! 🍻

·

Not heard of the brand at all, but if the price is right, might as well go for it.💜

·

The watch looks stunning. I'd check which movement it has.

I checked. It's a Miyota. Should be good, right? The specs are good too! I like the yellow Finn colour!

Lmfao...Awesomeness 🤣 welcome to the crunch!! Henry got some nice watches for sure, don't have one yet but it's on the list.

·

I don't own one yet but was severely tempted by Henry Archer before I went for my Tusenö. Maybe next year. I really like their design language and every review I've seen seems to agree it's great value for money. If you like it and see yourself wearing it go for it!

I hate the phrase “wear what you like”. But in this case, yeah…wear color and choose color if that’s what you like. That’s step 1. Step 2 is find those colors on the great brands. So you picked purple…purple dials seem to be in at the moment. So maybe purple BelCanto from Christopher Ward? (Get on the preorder list now!) #christopherward

Another to consider is the micro brand from Scotland, anOrdain. This GMT is stunning. https://anordain.com/products/fabrik-gmt.

I got my Nordsø Iris in July, and I like it a lot. It’s a head-turner: the brushed metallic lavender dial is mesmerizing, and the pops of white and light blue are perfect complements. The beads of rice bracelet is just okay, but this watch really shines on a color-coordinated strap (I wear it on a black one and the blue one pictured). The symmetry of the markers and hands further enhance the beauty of this watch’s design; it’s just so aesthetically pleasing. The case is thin, the crown is easy to use, and the Miyota 9039 movement is reliable. Based on my 5 months of ownership, I give the Nordsø Iris my enthusiastic recommendation. 👍🏻 👍🏻

Thank you so much. I love the color, and am glad you have a real picture of it! I love the blue strap as well.

That strap is actually an elastic loop, so there’s no buckle or clasp. I got it from Delugs, and it’s suuuper comfortable (I think AliExpress might have a similar one). I’m normally a bracelet guy, but this strap I like a lot; it’s as if it were designed to match this watch. Henry Archer watches use color so well, we almost owe it to them to accentuate that with a colored strap. 😄

One more photo to show the dial in different lighting.

I have a Henry Archer Nordlys in the deeper purple with coloured minute track. I love it. Its almost Aquis territory for me. Great watches, great micro, great owner. Recommended.

I was wearing my Nordso today.

It's slim , light, nicely weighted, wears well on the FKM rubber and the Harbour Grey bracelet

It's just taste, but the purple isn't me, and again taste, but I much prefer the Harbour Grey to the stock bracelet (beads of rice) which I don't wear much.

I also wish I'd got the black FKM rubber. I have the all black dial version.

I found adjusting size simple with a cheap pin tool, and on my 19cm wrist it wears well.

The bezel was a little stiff at first but now is nice.

Initially it did fel like it needed to have a greater diameter, but as its worn in its a bit easier and functions well.

Good firm feel and zero backplay.

Lume is spectacular, if thats your thing.

The Miyota 9000 movement works well and keeps time beautifully.

Things I don't like.

The crown. Too small. But I beleive they are bigger on the new versions.

The screw down function is also fiddly. Likely worsened by the crown size

Winding feel of the Miyota is very graunchy

And I can't really tell when it's fully wound.

So I just wind a bit and wear it . . . .

No date.

Interestingly I also have an Nodus sector sport.

Lovely looking watch. I think mine is "Glacial" or such like

Wears small for a 38mm

And seems to be a relative scratch magnet.

The Nordso with the ?Sapphire bezel and the knurling on the side just doesn't pick up scratches

I think the Miyota is better than the NH35 in the nodus.

Finishing is good for the cost

They both have at least 100m WR

I'm sure it's made where most micrograms are.

I'd happily recommend it at the price and says it's at least the equal of the quality of the Nodus overall.

Henrik is very easy to deal with

Hope that helps

Thank you so much for your insight. I love the look and wanted to make sure it’s a decent quality watch too.

Further comment.

I contacted Henrik and asked about getting the newer crown to fit it to my nordso mk1. (The new crown is a bit bigger)

He very rapidly and kindly sent me one with no charge. And I'll get a local watchmaker to fit it.

Such a pleasant easy guy to deal with.!!!
