Fears sweats the details

I've had this Fears Brunswick Champagne for a month now, so I know my love for it is true :)

If you've caught the cushion case bug that's been going around, don't sleep on these. They're great examples of ostensibly simple watches that gradually reveal layers of detail.

Without going full-on review, two things: 1) The dial finishing (gently) screams opulence; 2) The secret stars of the show are the numerals - there's a "black gold" coating, and all I really know about it is that it has a way of capturing light that stops me in my tracks. It doesn't sparkle as much as hold the light in place and make the numerals hum.

I'm sooo into their Brunswick 40 models, especially the pink one. It's too bad they don't have any AD in Europe. Maybe one day I visit Bristol.

How visible is the handset under low light conditions?

What first struck me about this collection, as a vintage guy, is that they went for the lumed pencil hands without lume. I have unintentional examples of this, but no intentional examples. Keeping the space empty keeps the color palette simple, but does it decrease legibility?

The contrast is really good, and there aren't any strong reflections, so readability is great, until it's actually dark. FWIW, I was on the fence regarding the handset until I had it in the metal.

Ohhh my. Yes my friend. I do have the "cushion case" illness and I'm in love with the Brunswick Salmon and my wrist must have it!!!! Love the photos and the Champagne dial as well!

Just saw this post, and I agree, the Brunswicks are fantastic. As the other poster said, I'm in love with the Flamingo Pink. I've had a chance to look at them under loupe and you're right, the finishing, numbers, and hands set them apart.

I want one badly. I almost bought one a few days ago with Collective. These are so cool. I kind of want a Citizen Chronomaster as well (the paper dial one). Very different watches, but both are good.
