also just a suggestion , if you are mechanically inclined , or have a friend who is , the vostok has a lever inside using which you can adjust the movement and decrease the abnormal timekeeping . i also own a vostok and am in love with the brand .
oof . that must have stung . im sure she will grow into it .... if not mabye flip it and get her something like a auto(mecha)quarts. i saw a seiko movement called the vh31 and its chrono counterpart the vk61, its quarts but its seconds hand ticks 4 times a second so no one would know . you know what they say , happy wife , happy life . haha cheers

As you said the grey or the used market is the way to go in the price category I am looking for. I already looked at the swatch but the hand feel was subpar. I will probably go with a tissot which were going for around £200 on Jomashop , even without a serviceable movement it's a hell of a package . The Laco is also amazing looking and I will keep that in mind. The Certina and Mido maybe out of my budget even in the used market but maybe in the near future. I was planning to gift it to her on her birthday which is still months away so I have plenty of time to save up. Yet I must tell you again how thankful I am that you took out the time to explain this to me. Any other suggestions would be welcome.
