Will old Soviet-era watches be worth a lot of money one day?

Not that I collect them in hopes that they will be (I know some people do), just interested in other people’s opinions on the subject.

I doubt it. They aren't well made or finished, or particularly accurate. They may hold some value, but even doubling in price to almost $200 feels far fetched.

Only one I'm aware of is the Desert Storm victory issued one, and even then there were so many legitimate variants it's a crap shoot.

Yeah I agree. The ones that Yuri Gagarin and Alexi Leonov wore while they were in space may get pricey in my opinion. The rest I think are always going to be affordable, which is 100% fine by me.

Totally agree. There might be a few that are hard to find and get pricey, but the vast majority will be easily attainable for us to wear and enjoy.

Probably lots of fakes too.

Yeah that’s one of the big issues with Soviet watches in general. There are more fakes at this point than real ones.

Generally I agree with all you said but want to add something. How many times it happened already that suddenly a certain watch gets discontinued or covered on YouTube and then explodes in price. Okay, since all of the Soviet era watches are discontinued already anyway that may be not the issue here. But my point is that we can never know which type of watch will explode in price next.
