I think I found my next Grail

It's almost new year here in California! What a year for me. But it's time to look forward.

And I think I found my next Grail to save for. Behold (well, see post photo), Tourby hand engraved ETA 6498-2.

Seriously, how pretty is that? It's the only movement execution I like better than the vintage American pocket watches (for the love of God, the Americans made heart-achingly beautiful movements). Maybe I am just shallow, but I find this engraving so much more inspiring than the finely finished movements of the Trinity and Grand Seiko.

And to think they charge only EUR1,500 more for this 😉.

So yeah, new year, new Grail.

Thanks! Looked them up. Their top grade movement looks fantastic enough and their hand engraved movements are superb!

I love that swan neck regulator. What a fantastic job of finishing this otherwise standard ebauche movement. And the engraving on the gold plated mainplate and bridges is amazing! I thought it was a Kudoke for a moment. Lovely work!

You should do a review! I was shocked that there was zero post under #tourby when I posted this!

If you can get a Hamilton movement, it’s worth a look. See my posts
