Damn it Seiko you did it again! Seiko Presage review

I shouldn’t like this watch, but I love it.

A while back while browsing the interwebs as we watch ner….. ehm enthusas do I stumbled acro the Seiko presage SRPH93J1. My girlfriend saw the pics and said it was the best looking watch she had ever seen. Say no more, I took that as a que and bought one 😁

This is in many ways the ultimate proof of why we love Seikoa. The bezel doesn’t turn, the crown is not screw in, the chrystal is made of hardlex and the end links doesn’t fit the case perfectly- a pet peeve of mine. And yet I love it.

But before we get into that let’s talk about the movement. This Seiko uses a 4R35 movement that hacks and hand winds with an estimated power reserve of about 40. With 23 jewels it seems like a good and reliable movement as I find most Seiko movements to be. Oh, and the rotor is golden and really nicely decorated 😍

So, why do I love this watch? The tone of the dial in combination with the indexes gives it a perfect vintage vibe. The case, Seiko is king of comfortable cases, curves in a beautiful way and hugs the wrist really well. At 40.8 mm it’s slightly larger than I usually go for but with a 47 mm lug to lug and female end links it wears like a dream. A display case back with a nicely decorated golden rotor in the back and a almost top hat chrystal encases it all and I don’t know, the hard lex gives a warm look when sapphire often can be…..to clear?😁

All in all the Seiko Presage SRPH93J1 is a really great watch that wears as well as it looks. I can highly recommended it. Unless you want, you know, functionality 😁
