Is there any Rolex without gold?

Hey lads,

I have been looking at the new datejust (ref. 126200) and found out that it’s indicies are made of white gold. Then I went on to the 116200 and found out that it has white gold indicies too. Then I tried to find out if the indicies on the 1603 are white gold too, so far I haven’t been able to find anything about it.

The thing is that I’am trying to hunt a datejust for someone who wants absolutely no gold on the case, bracelet and dial; the only place he is okay with having gold is the movement.

Do any of you know of a Datejust reference that doesn’t have any sort of gold on the case, dial and bracelet?

If not, then do you any of you know of any Rolex that does not have gold on it.

That's a very interesting topic. As far as I know, all modern Rolex models use white gold for their hands and some indices to help with corrosion. Even the Explorer II has black painted hands made of white gold.

I'm not sure what is allowed exactly in Islam when it comes to wearing gold, but if your friend wants no visible gold, the modern Explorer II is an option. If obsoletely no gold is allowed the Rolex Submariner 5513 from 1967 to 1984 has no gold even in the movement, except for the Rolex engraving on the rotor I think.

Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can chip in on if a vintage Datejust has gold or not. I think the 4 number references don't, but I'm unsure.

I recall reading about this previously; All modern Rolex models contains gold hands, markers, indices, and some screws in the movement are also gold, making it very challenging for our Muslim friends. The EXII’s hands and markers are still gold, but painted black.

The real question is why would it bother them to have white goal on the indices as it just looks like stainless steel
