Stuhrling Original Depthmaster Heritage Review
So I’ve had this watch for a little bit now, and I’ve got to say that I’ve been mostly pleased. So I know there are very mixed opinions (mostly negative) on the brand Stuhrling. I had purchased one of their quartz divers and was very unimpressed. However I received this watch as a gift and have loved it.
For starters, the movement is very smooth and high quality
The finishing on the case is really well done overall, and the bezel has great rotation and design.
There are multiple dial variations but I have the teal sunburst dial which really pops and is unique.
Has a date window and a screw-down crown.
While the watch appears thick, it’s is not overbearing. The watch is no wear near the size of some Invictas I’ve seen, and fits nice on my wrist.
The dial markers are also an underrated part of the watch and the Lume on the hands and dial markers are some of the better ones I’ve seen.
My only gripes with this watch are 1. The Crystal and 2. The clasp on the band
The crystal is their in house Krysterna brand, and I haven’t had it very long and it already has scratches that have been difficult to remove even with pollywatch. So I question the reliability and quality of the crystal.
Second the band is great, has some nice weight to it and looks very good, however, the clasp struggles to close correctly, and takes a few times and some firm pressing to get it to close.
Overall, pleasantly surprised at this watch and for the price of around $225 on Amazon, it’s not a bad choice for an entry Automatic movement watch

Totally fair, I’ve heard a lot of people say the same and had a bad experience with the quartz myself, this one was different for me for whatever reason

If i have the correct info they use a Claro 888 (no longer made ) movement which has a not so stellar reputation going back years. Not sure where they dug those up.
