A look backwards

While we prepare for the Travelgraph launch, I figured I’d share another one of our very popular designs. Many thanks to a good friend and customer for these lovely wrist shots.

The Chronosport Starfield is a watch very special to me. I’ve always loved aventurine dials, but my mission with this watch was to take it a step further. Following the success of our aventurine dial Sport Classic Supernova, I knew I wanted to work with a aventurine again on the Chronosport, but wanted to to something seldom seen before.

I’ve always wanted to work with meteorite too. Save for a piece unique Sport Classic, I hadn’t done it before. I figured this was a good opportunity to combine both the materials, thus resulting in the Chronosport Starfield. The dial consists of natural meteorite subdials set into a deep blue aventurine backdrop, giving the appearance of two planets floating in deep and endless space.

It was a very difficult watch to make. Aventurine is already a brittle material , but the difficulties are exacerbated when you have to drill holes for the subdials, date window, and pinholes for the applied hardware. It took over a year from the first sketch to the prototype, but I think it was well worth the wait!

We began delivering the Starfields in May of 2023, and all 50 were sold out before we even delivered the first one.

Thank you all for reading!

That is such a good looking design. Have you considered a version two?

Thank you! I would love to make a version 2 of the Chronosport some day. It’s always nice to revisit all designs with everything we’ve learned since we’ve made them.

We are actually currently working on a version 2 of our Sport Classic from 2019
