The Seiko SNK 809 is likely to be my first "proper" watch purchase for many years. Such good value and it'll start off my collection nicely.

@suntzu Actually I find it probably gets banged up less as its the hand doing the hammering rather than the one being hit 😅. 

Face up/face down another good question too. Face up for me. I tried face down once and the crystal lasted all but five minutes 🤣

I've been into clocks for a long time and have refurbished several mantle clocks over the years.

I wear mine closer to my hand - almost on my hand. I think you could call this "after the bone"? 

Weirder still, although I'm right handed I wear it on my right wrist - always have. Maybe a good subject for another survey?
