Always loved watches. Coming from Geneva, I always had Swatches watches around when I was a kid and then received a Sector for my 18th birthday... some time ago. As a student, I bought a Certina DS podium and kept switching between my Swatches, my Sector and Certina.
In my early 30s, I bought the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887
300 SLR Carrera that I still consider as one of the nicest watches I owned.
Then I bought a Hublot Classic Fusion Chrono 41mm 8 years ago.
7 years ago I bought a vintage seiko 5 for 30$ on ebay and got it restored for 150$ and this is my favorite watch up to now.
The last years, I decided to sell all "things" I was not wearing or that I didn't like anymore so I sold the Certina and Tag Heuer and managed not to buy anymore watches for 2 years.
Then I got my daily watch which is a Rolex Explorer II 40mm (from 1990, the new one is a 42). I love this watch and wear it every day.
Last year I sold my Hublot and got a new Panerai Quaranta that is still in the box and I will probably sell it at one point.
I own a couple of other watches that I wear occasionally, a vintage 60s Zodiak from my father, a few Casio G-Shock, a very nice Breda watch and a Hoot watch.

New on-board! Seeking for advice on military watch 😉
Hi WC community! I joined two weeks ago and I really enjoy this site/app and the community. I learn at lot from you guys, discover new watches and esp...
Hmmm... I really never understood the hype about DW. I personally find that they are far from being special. Round, white dial and the logo. I'm surprised to see a fan of this brand as I honestly thought it had disappeared when the hype was done. (Like Ice watch) However, I really appreciate the passion you have around this brand as the most important for me is the pleasure of wearing or owning them and based on your post, they really make you happy! So go on and enjoy your collection 👍🏽

Excellent review that I was looking forward to. I'm ready to switch the strap as long as the watch is nice. Still hesitating between spending 150$ on this watch or adding more and getting the Hamilton Khaki 🤔
I agree 👍🏽 and also joined recently. I'm also between the two. I own "expensive" watches but I also own cheaper watches that l really like. However these cheaper watches are most of the time known brands like Seiko, Casio or Swatch. I enjoy discovering microbrands from this site.
It's a beautiful watch. You are buying a Rolex with all things that come with it meaning that it might be overpriced but it's the prestige of the watch and the style that you are paying for. I don't think we can talk about "alternatives" but maybe watch around the same price that have a nice look and there might be a few. However, if you can afford it, go for it! Would it be your first Rolex??!
