Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
My wife bought me an OG Planet Ocean when we got engaged. Took me a while after that to get my next "real" watch, but I've got a few now!
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The only childhood watch I can remember is a Casio AE-20W Twin Graph I got in Grade 4 or 5.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I impulse-bought my second "real" watch, an Omega Aqua Terra Word Timer, after eating way too many dumplings. I had to take my Planet Ocean in for service, and the AD sweet talked me (and my wife) into it... hooray for dumplings!
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't ask me for advice! Go watch (no pun intended) some videos and make sure you know what you're getting into.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Microbrands? Blok, Nomadic. Weird stuff? Mr Jones, Ressence. On my shopping list? Omega, JLC.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon in rose gold. Just look at it! Way outside any reasonable price range, though.
