SANTOS VS. TANK
I am looking to get my first Cartier but am very drawn at the moment. I want my Tudor Ranger to have a companion so he doesn’t get lonely. The Tank can be bought brand new at the price of a vintage galbee.

I prefer the look of the Santos and so that’s how I voted, but you really can’t go wrong with either.
If you had to pick one watch that was the “essence” of Cartier, it would be the tank.
I like newer watches so unless the Galbee is in decent condition lean towards the Tank. Presently own a Santos 100 and the blue dial Santos large but am strongly thinking about adding a new Tank XL with their in house movement.

Could get best of both worlds and get the Santos dumont 👌
Santos is more elegant, has the iconic screws, sophisticated, complete and versatile. You can use it with an oversized white t shirt or a blue suit.
Can’t go wrong, both iconic. Santos slightly more casual, Tank a bit more on the dressy/smart side. Think about how you normally dress and when you would like to wear it.
