A Day-Date for under €140

Spain isn't a country known for its haute horlogerie, but multiple brands have been created here. Probably, the most known watch group is Festina, which owns Lotus.

Usually, I'm not a fan of this kind of brands, but the other day I saw an ad on Instagram promoting the new Freedom range by Lotus. The watches from pictures looked pretty decent. Since I had been looking for an affordable green-dial watch with a bracelet, and I'm a huge fan of the Day-Date complication, I decided to pull the trigger.

The watch arrived today and it didn't disappoint! The deep face has a nice play with the light, the bracelet doesn't rattle too much, and the rose gold-painted sections don't look tacky.

Overall, a more than decent watch for its price point and design. I know this last feature isn't difficult to nail, since it's based on one of Rolex's flagship models.

I'll have to wear it a couple of weeks to give my "final" thoughts, but I honestly think watches like this could be a nice alternative to Aliexpress homages, specially after reading so many complaints about faulty automatic movements.

I always thought this design has just the right amount of flash for a flashy but not obnoxious watch.

So far so good! The bracelet is pretty comfortable, and the watch fits and dresses nicely.
