Grand Seiko SBGX261

Falling in love with this GS reference. At 37mm and with an Oyster-esque case, this is a killer Explorer alternative at a quarter the price! Not to mention, it has the 9F62 quartz (which is insanely accurate). The finishing is of course top notch and what you'd expect from Grand Seiko.

I like the black Seikos. Very elegant, simple and clean design! I would not say Explorer killer. Just another very nice watch which is more affordable😉

Definitely not an "Explorer killer" BUT a "Killer Alternative." (for me at least). :)

Great piece! There is an automatic version as well, if I'm not mistaken. Very tempting!

Yes. The SBGR317 is probably the closest auto version to this they currently have. However, it's 40mm and retails at $4,700. I think they have a 42mm date and no date version as well. Both over 4K. The SBGX261 really hits the sweet spot for me at 37mm, 10mm thick and only 2K. :)

10mm is sweet... Just wanted to add: There is also the SBGR023 automatic in 37mm, but it's fairly thick.

Ah, yes. Some good deals can be had with the older models. 12mm isn't too bad though! Definitely doable for an auto!
