Picked up a brand new Mark XX yesterday!

Stopped by a new AD that's closer to my home to get my Black Bay Heritage 41 serviced. I decided to snoop around the IWC case and check out the new Mark XX, but was torn because they didn't have a Blue Faced model (the one I was originally interested in) in stock. Low and behold a day later my salesperson sends me a text that they just received a brand new Blue Mark XX and wanted me to check it out.

Sadly the blue didn't look as good to my eyes in person, but the black Mark XX is a stunner. Even with the matte dial, there's incredible light play and the new white date dial gives this thing a really nice symmetry.

The new in-house movement is fantastic, I encourage anyone interested in an IWC to go check them out in person, it's buttery smooth and is keeping fantastic time at 1.8 seconds a day.

That’s awesome!  Congratulations on a great looking watch.   I’ve been looking at IWC and wondering if they will do the titanium version of the MK xx?

I think so! I was eying the Mark XVIII before picking this up for the last year. Seeing what IWC was doing with the Pilot's Watch Chronograph gave me hope that the in-house movement would come to the Mark series, and sure enough, here we are!

I too was eying the Titanium model because I love those blued hands. I would check one of these out if you're interested, they're incredibly light and the wrist presence is phenomenal. IWC doesn't do their watches justice on their site, they're considerably more beautiful in person.

Wow. Congrats. A real stunner. Saw a great review by ID Guy about the Mark XX. What a sleeper hit. Looks great and enjoy. I’m hoping one day to get my hands on a Mark xii.

Congrats! I tried it in the boutique and loved it. The Mark XX is simply beautiful. And I agree that you have to see it in the flesh to appreciate its simplicity and symmetry. The subtle upgrades from Mark XVIII add up to make this one of the best 1WC out there. I hope they make a ceratanium version of this :)

Is the lug to lug very long?

·

Lug to lug is 49mm. In my opinion that's perfect proportions when compared with my Mk XVI at 48mm x 39mm, which I feel is perfect. The best of the Mark series for some time I think, really lovely, understated and superbly finished watch.
