My first "biggish" watch buy...Opinions, help with my selection please...

I think I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on my first serious buy, for years I been in love with both the Bell and Ross and the Dynamic. Obviously I'm going pre-loved ones, but B&R probably would be newer or maybe even new, the Omega older and then probably in need of a service. Either watch will be around 1,500 to 2,000 depending on condition, papers etc....What would you pick and why?

I can’t pick between the two. But, even if I never had one, I have always had a soft spot for the Dynamics. A really cool looking watch and still suitable in most situations.

·

Both cool and unusual, so you couldn't go wrong with either. The omega has a bit more personality about it to me, so that would get my vote, but you go with your heart 👍

·

Omega . I like the dial

·

I'd pick the Omega but this is purely subjective on my part. It appeals to me more. Both are great though. You cant go wrong.

Based on looks alone, I'd pick the Omega. I have seen similar watches to the B&R out there from many manufacturers at various price points, so finding a similar watch might not be so difficult while still getting a quality time-piece.

That said, your use of the word 'serious' means (to me) that this is something special, you've saved-up for perhaps.

Will you enjoy the Omega as much if a) you have to 'settle' for something that has some wear and tear b) have to add extra cost to have it serviced immediately or in the near future. If you can buy the B&R while it's still under warranty (or even new) and have a retail shop that will back you up if something goes wrong, that might be the way to go. Food for thought!

The bell and ross based on the rest of your collection. The aesthetic is cleaner and less busy. I think you like the omega partially because of the branding and heritage. If you hid the branding or switched them, would you still make the same choice?

Thanks Brian...I see your point on the B&R, you're right.

a) yes, b) Watchmakers in México are not that expensive, I suspect this Dynamic is not to hard to service...

Thank you very much for your input.

The thing that pushes me to the B&R camp is that, it can be use easily in every situation the Dynamic can be used PLUS formal, suit, weddings etc. so it is more versatile.

What pushes me to the Dynamic camp is its personality, it's funkiness, the brand heritage ... It seems that I need both!!!😜 OMG, i;m in trouble...HAHAHA

Man… that's some good taste right there. Either watch is highly unique in its own way, feels like a true choice for someone who's into watches, not into trends. That being said, I've always have a soft spot for Omegas, but in my book there's no wrong choice here. Kudos on your taste, sir.

Thank you so much on your kind comments, I'm always interested in "different" things...I'm actively searching ebay and chrono24 for any one of this two options...so I guess which ever one happens first, that will be...

I strongly prefer the 'character' of the Omega. Plus, I'm always a sucker for the retro vibe from that dial. And are those lume markers on each hour? If so, cool.

The B&R is classic, but also very, very basic.

·

I don't know why but the bell&ross seems cleaner than the old omega. It's also more secure to buy retail than vintage.

aaannnndddd, this just happened, the hunt is over for now. …I think I got a good deal…can’t wait to have it in my hands. The BR V1 92 in black was no where to be found, this model is more available.
