Super budget digital review

I discovered #skmei watches looking for some #casiodigital watches on #amazon. The first thing to catch my eye were the colours. The thumbnail showed the #rosegold Skmei 1381, and then I saw in the options "Coffee Gold." I have never heard of that before so I was curious. Since it didn't break the bank I pulled the trigger!

Here are my findings:

Skmei does a decent job at trying to be what Casio is. However they do fall short in many aspects, and in my opinion is not worth the time to try.

The #skmei 1318 is comparable and almost identical to the #casio #db360. From what I see on Amazon.com the price for the Casio is about twice as much as the Skmei, so I ordered both to see them side by side.

Out of the box the packaging was minimal yet protective. They include the world smallest screwdriver so you can adjust the size of the this metal bracelet.

As soon as I took the plastic off and started to set it, I noticed how loud the bracelet was. So much that it distracted me from my review video 😅.

Another big downside is the legibility of the face. If there is any sort of angle to the watch face you will NOT be able to tell the time! (See video).

The Casio is the clear cut winner with a longer battery life, better legibility, data storage, and a better bracelet (how can you get worse than the thin bracelets Casio makes 😳).

Functions include:

-time/day/date/year

-5 alarm

-stopwatch

-count down timer

-dual time

-bright backlight

Where Skmei did go right is in their colouring. They offer:

-silver 🩶

-black 🖤

-gold 🌟

-rose gold 🌹

-coffee gold ☕

Specs:

-stainless steel/resin

-dial 35mm

-thickness 12mm

-band width 16mm

-WR 5ATM (warning: do not press buttons underwater) ⚠️

Twice the price? On Ali, the Skmei is about $6. This Casio, new, is at least $40.

The tilting thing is an issue with the older Skmeis (the 1278 also has the flaw), but they have addressed this and their newer models no longer have the problem, e.g. there are a few reviews by Casiodean reporting this. I've got their G-shock clone, and that does not have the issue either.

I found mine for $15 and $30. Glad you found a better deal on the skmei 👍🏼 I would say if you want to go through the trouble to get it off Ali go for it.
