Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I have always liked watches, but in early 2022 my best friend introduced me to some of his vintage mechanical watches which sparked my interest in more than just my Apple Watch Series 6. So far I have collected two mechanical watches, and plan on many more!

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

I don't remember what my first watch was, sometime during my early childhood. The first ones I remember having were called MoMo, which was a small brand my mum and dad bought for me in Greece when I was 10 or 11 years old. The owner of the brand and the shop was very nice! They were rubber, came in many different colours, and the bands and cases were interchangable with eachother. My parents still have theirs to this day. The first watch I ever bought myself was in Greece in 2018, this time at a jeweler, a good friend of the family. This watch was a STORM London Vaultron, which cost me about €180. I still have it, but it doesn't see much use these days.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

Not really, I have just started out and my collection is small. I am however trying to find more about my newly accquired Vostok Amphibia Sniper, which I have very little information about. It is from either the 70's or 80's, but I have no idea. It is fun researching and discovering more about it!

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Take your time. Don't rush into buying a watch because it is kinda nice. Save up for it beforehand, but don't spend a lot in the beginning.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Mostly Vostok and Seiko, as I am often looking through Finn.no and Ebay trying to find old, used and good valued watches. A really fun hobby. As always, I am dreaming about one day getting my hands on a Rolex or an Omega, as those are my two favourite brands.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Rolex Sea-Dweller "Double Red", ref 1665. Either one of the MK I, II, III or IV will do. I first saw it on Kristian Haagen's instagram, and immediately fell in love. I am constantly checking it out on Chrono24. The subtlety of it, the patina it gets, the double red lines on the dial. It is perfect.
