So I had this watch made by Eric Yeh of Havaan Tuvali, a Taiwanese microbrand that breathes new life to NOS Cases and Movements from the 70s. Eric does this by creating dials from scratch, he's used cigar leaf, enamel, and other materials in previous models. For the duodecima, he uses calligraphy paper and a brass ring.
I specifically asked for a Chinese character california dial of his plum model. He is game to personalise the dial designs within reasonable limits. He's a joy to talk to and offered to have the watch delivered to my hotel in Taipei all sized up!
