Need help on two questions ! Thank you!

I decided to sell my longines HC 43 which I got for 1600 swiss francs on a bracelet in adition to 160 swiss franks for an original longines nato strap. I am asking 1100 but the best offer I got so far is 900. Should I sell it or wait for a better offer ? N.B tge watch still has 3 years of warranty

I wanted to get a Oris Aquis and the clerk at the Oris boutique told me to wait for W&W as there will be a refined version of the Aquis. So I am kind of putting the money together to get that 😅 The other option would be to keep it and save up money for my next purchase.

The other thing is I am having a hard time to justify owning more than 6 watches ( I know weird ) but that is the reason I am thinking of selling it before getting my next luxury watch. The last watch I sold was an Alpina seastrong and I regretted that a couple of months later!

I genuinely believe that the Longines HC is a watch that is worth way more than the 900 you've been offered. The market obviously says differently at this time. It's hard for me to see you being able to buy another watch for that sum that is of the same quality as the one you have. I wouldn't be selling for 900.

Yeah I agree it would be just to help with my next purchase not necessarily for only 900. Thank you for your honest answer 🫡

Seller regret it real, if you think you will have this then don’t pull the trigger. Whatever w&w releases there are I’m sure they won’t be available straight away so I’m sure you will have the time to save up.

As for the limited collection that’s all down to the individual. I’m gonna stop at 8 ( I’m at 5 at the min). I really don’t see the point in having more as I wouldn’t wear them all enough.

But we are all different

i agree with you ! The only reason I would get more is that 4 out of my 6 were gifts and 3 of them are under 100 bucks so I do not know if I should count those 😅

Truthfully what condition is the HC 43? That is a factor in the price. Personally 30-50% off the original new price is within the ballpark however are you also paying a third party for the sale (eg Ebay, Chrono24 etc) you should add that cost on top. However when I bought my Oris secondhand it still had a bit of warranty left, was in good condition and got it for approx half the retail price (excluding third party sale costs)

I am selling it on tutti.ch so no third party costs invloved. Thisbis the ebay version of switzerland so it is basically for free. The condition is very good besides the clasp on the original bracelet there are no visual scratches on the watch nor bracelet

Beyond our business ideas, losses, profits, or the old debate of whether watches are an expense or an investment, there is a harsh iron judge called the market. Few, very few, manage to predict their trends despite tables or studies; what yesterday marked fashion and taste is today anachronistic and undesirable. If you collect watches for pleasure, don't wait too long and sell, if you do it for business, be patient and wait for the moment so that your piece is worth what you expect, although of course there is always the risk that this will never happen.

Very well said! I decided to keep asking my desired price as long as I do not get the higher end watch I want. When I get my SMP 300 at some point this year I ll be willing to sell it for less
