Quartz is doing just fine. There is nowhere it needs to come back from.

UPDATE 😀

For those who may be interested, here's a strap which appears to be more durable, though only time will tell. It is the "ALPINE Sporty Premium Soft Silicone Adjustable Watch Band", again from Amazon. It does not pay homage to the Doxa strap as much as the previous one, but it's a good colour match and gives off a sporty diver vibe.

UPDATE 😢

The BINLUN watch strap from Amazon UK failed quite dramatically. It split at the lug pin and at the buckle. As a result it almost fell off my wrist when I was at the pub. I was quite surprised - I'd only worn it a few times.

The Amazon return process was easy, thankfully.

Smells like victory.

Answering my own question here. I found the BINLUN Quick Release Silicone Watch Strap at Amazon UK did the job for me. It's not a carbon copy of the Doxa strap, but it's comfortable and seems a sturdy yet flexible strap.

I agree. Such a statement misses the mark for me. But where does "affordable" start?

My first automatic watch cost about £60. It was great while it lasted. My first automatic Seiko and Citizen watches cost a touch over £100. I have subsequently spent around £500 for a watch, after import fees.

While my attitude to paying good money for a decent watch has changed over time, I still regard £500 and up a very considered purchase.
