Would you be interested in sort of a monthly meet up thing? I am flirting with starting one on Meetup. Is there something like that out there? Are we alone in this universe?

There are a few from South Carolina, but not really from the Charleston area. I don't know if the RedBar chapter is active. They haven't posted in a minute. I would be interested in a meet-up, but monthly may start to look like an obligation. I have enough of those: I volunteer for a few boards of organizations that do good work in the community and then I grumble because they take an hour or two of my time a month.
I was thinking about sending out a flare for a meet-up and you beat me to it.

Yeah I feel that, it could be cool for just an every now and then casual thing. I really just wanted to start to meet more enthusiasts in the area.
