Considering a G-Shock again

Some time ago I already looked at G-Shocks and liked them very much but somehow didn't pull the trigger. Now as I am to go on some adventures like hiking or sailing for several days I want a robust watch that does not need electricity like my apple watch does and just works. I just cannot really decide whether I should get grey (without Bluetooth) or the black one (with Bluetooth). Do you actually use the Bluetooth function? If any recommendations other than a GShock for that kind of purposes leave me a comment 🤙

There was a similar poll earlier today. I suggest A or going all in and getting the full metal version

I have the version without the Bluetooth, I bought mine just few days before the bluetooth variant got released. The advantage in the Bluetooth variant is the tough solar and its like $20-30 different to the basic model depending on the colors. If you consider the solar as value added then go for the bluetooth.

The module pretty much needs no interfering again once you set unless you have to change the DST. Mine has only lost 5 seconds in more than year of owning so for a quartz it is quite accurate. The bluetooth variant is more precise because of the syncing and you don't need to even bother with DST. Also setting up the watch with bluetooth is quicker.

You can also take a look at the classic square variants which have few more module option and different price points starting from $50. Or if you like an automatic, pick up a Seiko 5 field variant for around $200 and they do the job well.

Despite the solar feature on the grey one, I'd get the version without Bluetooth - BT it is a finnicky, unnecessary option. And anyway, the battery lasts for ages.
