Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
It started with me needing a smartwatch with a larger screen. Then, the model with the larger screen lacked a crown guard, so I bought a newer version. And then something woke in me that my Dad tried to start with me at the age of 16.......
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
My Dad gifted me a Favre Leuba when I turned 16. But, the first watch I bought with my own my was an unknown brand that caught my eye at a department store. It was a nicely designed rectangular watch on a leather band. It stopped working after a year and couldn't be repaired.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I've got a worthless Geoffrey Beene watch that I bought from Winners because I was killing time while my wife was trying on some clothes. The chrono complications aren't functional, but the face spoke to me at the time, and it was cheap. It's well worn now, and doesn't see much wrist time, but the memory makes me smile.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy what you like, within your budget, and don't get sucked into hype.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Omega Railmaster. I love how unique it looks, and reminds me of the Seamaster that my Dad gave me when I finished high school.
