Longines Master Collection

Hey Crunchers, hope everyone is having a good Monday.

I tried on this Longines roman numerals master collection -LNG0104432, on the weekend and it’s a stunning watch. Fits like a dream and is spectacular to look at.

I’m thinking of pulling the trigger in the coming months and I wanted to see if anyone currently owns one and has any feedback? I can’t seem to find many reviews/videos on this version for some reason.

I’m in the market for a dress watch and this is at the top end of my price point - $2k. I’ve always wanted a Longines so this is currently the top contender.

Thanks for any advice/feedback or other ideas for dress watches.

It's a great piece and even though I don't have one, it would make my short list.

Longines produce quality watches. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I like the design and the price is right.

In terms of other ideas, that applies to the other Swatch Group brands too - if you find a Tissot, Hamilton, Mido or Rado that you like they'll also be excellent quality.

If you fancy a more traditionally styled and sized dress watch then the vintage market is overflowing with bargains because large steel sports watches are what's trendy these days.

I wouldn't even poll the group about that watch, I'd be buying it ASAP! 👍 Great taste, you have!

Good to know and I’ll do some digging around those brands, thanks for the feedback!

Hi there,

I am the happy owner of 3 Longines watches, so keep in mind I might be a bit biased.

I own a dressy chronograph from the master collection which looks and feels really great:

It keeps good time. I tend to reserve it for formal occasions or any circumstance where I know I won't put it at risk because it doesn't feel like a solid tool watch let's say. Having said that, I don't have an objective reason to think it's particularly fragile either.

I once came across a time-only Master Collection watch fairly similar to the one you're talking about but with arabic numerals. It was discounted for half the price, I think someone had returned it shortly after purchase. I almost pulled the trigger on it. The only gripe I had about it was the shape of the crown. On my watch the crown is smooth to the touch and well sized but on the time-only the junction between the coin-edge part and the "top" was a bit rough, like too sharp and it didn't feel pleasant to the touch, and also a bit under sized. Did you feel anything like this when you tried it ?

Also, there is no lume on it so it's not a watch you'll check when you wake up in the middle of the night. (may be you don't in which case, well... good for you :-) )

I'd be curious to see how the bracelet feels on yours. What is the lug width? Mine is 21 mm which is limiting for strap changes.

I realize I just spent this whole comment gripping about negatives, when in fact, I absolutely love my watch and I think the one you're considering is just stunning.

The pictures on the Longines website are beautiful but they don't look like the real thing at all. I'd like to see some WRUW shots if you decide to pick it up.

Let us know!

I like Longines. This is a beautiful watch and I also own a different model from the Master Collection.

One word of advice, make sure you can size that bracelet for you. There is no half link available for this bracelet and I find mine frustrating at time but I do not want to sell it.

That’s a fantastic looking watch as well! I didn’t notice an issue with the crown and will double check the lug width when I head back to see it in person. Great pointers that I’ll make sure to cover prior to a purchase, thank you!

Ah that’s a great point, yeah I need to head back in and take a closer look at that braclet size, thanks for the heads up! 👍
