Hey Huy! Is it a Shell Cordovan strap again?

My friend took a photo of me and said: Hey Huy! Is it a Shell Cordovan strap again?

That's right, I always prioritize using this material for my watches. Even with its glossy surface effect, it's really easy to show scratches. You can see in thumbnail of this post

And you, what do you think about this special and of course very high quality material?

To be honest, I’m looking at the BlackBerry Bold in the first photo!

I’m in between Shell Cordovan and Horween, but also like Saffiano for dress watches. Haven’t really compared various materials though 😊

Exactly what @dialsandgreens said, only thing I notice is the blackberry.

I came here for the Blackberry chat too, I was blissfully unaware that I had really fat thumbs until I was issued with one at work, happy times!

Re the actual question, I was tempted by one recently but it cost 10 times the value of the actual watch I was wanting a replacement watch for. I think for the right watch, the material makes for a very handsome strap.

I too wish that Blackberry still made something for people that like buttons. If I wanted to press flesh against glass, I'd wear an exhibition case back😬

I only know of shell cordovan from shoe discussion. I hear they are warm. The tanning process is supposed to make a very cosmetically self-healing hide; things should buff right out.

Personally I don't get it. I like thin and supple and isn't this thick and stiff? I guess it lasts somewhat longer, but enough to justify the magnitude in price?
