What’s the best place/way to sell watches?

I’m looking to sell these watches, but I have no idea about the best way to do it. I’ve heard some sketchy things about places like Reddit, and I know eBay and Chrono24 can skim quite a bit off the top of your sale price. Would love to hear all of your thoughts!

Age old question. Really depends region of sell with regards of market demand. For instance, here in canada, it's a pretty thin market from big city to big city, so there's no real big network. Unlike in Europe and the US where it's extremely easy to ship and sell locally, can't do that in certain regions. Australia, Canada etc.

As a Canadian, the shipping costs are too expensive and risky to sell outside of Canada but unfortunately that's where the market is. So I'm caught in a loop.

Brand in terms of Micro brands vs Popular or Luxury brands.

Yes, Chrono 24 and eBay do have higher commissions to be paid but they also have the market. You could do word of mouths or posting at work, Facebook marketplace, a local flea market, a pawn shop. Those are some ideas but involves a little bit more legwork for you.

I just sold a watch on Facebook marketplace... but we are talking about €60 not a lot of money!

My last sale on eBay was a photo camera: on a final price of €625 eBay held almost €70... indeed quite a high commission! But if you do some math anyway, you can manage to sell at a price that covers your expenses.

Once a month eBay offer 80% off selling fees. I just wait for those and sell what I need to then.

Is there no selling post allowed here on Watch Crunch?

What’s your reasoning behind selling the Dan Henry? I have the same one and I am also planning on selling. Small and feels cheap to me. I do like the beads of rice bracelet mine came with. Mine got a scratch within 5 minutes too which didn’t help and I was just doing stuff around the house.

Good question! I think there could be (or should be, if you prefer). Maybe that’ll come in time? I hope so.
