Black & White (and green)

Do y’all prefer monochromatic watches, or do you prefer a splash of color? What are your favorite monochrome pieces?

It turns out I need a bit of colour to add visual interest.

I used to own a GS SBGX259 (pure white dial). Beautiful watch, great size, 100m water resistance. But I sold it as i think it lacked something when I looked at it. Then made the classic rebuy error, this time the SBGX059 with the more balanced double logo, or so I thought. I ended up selling that too.

Now have replaced that with a Nomos Metro Gangreserve with its touches of mint and red and I love it.

I prefer a splash of color usually

I personally love a good black/white/grey dial. It’s just so versatile and legible in most cases. I do enjoy color from time to time, but monochromatic if I had to choose an option.

The Sinn 556i is probably my favorite.

Splash of color depends on the dial design and type of watch. Studio Underdog is a good example of adding fitting color with their chronographs. Blued steel hands are also a good touch on white dials.

Colored seconds hand is another good example of adding color to a monochrome dial...
