Quick story: while it doesn’t matter to anyone but me, I’m a Son of Marshall and proud of it. I used to wear this hat everywhere I went. At some point, about ten or twelve years ago, my father in law (also a Marshall grad) commandeered it lol. His memory was slipping, so at no point did I say “hey, that’s my hat” because he loved this hat. I figured it was the least I could do for a man who had done so much for me. He passed away in February of 2022, and I thought again about this hat. This morning while taking my mother in law to church, she simply got in the car and said “I believe this is yours.” I didn’t really know what to say other than “thank you.” We think about watches as heirlooms all the time. I know I have some I’ll be giving to my children before I’m done here. I guess this hat is like that, too. I’ve never really cared too much about the sentimental value of a hat…but this one is different. Anyway, my watch is in the foreground so technically this is a watch post. Lol. Have a great day, Crunchers. Make it yours.

Forever.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’ve never heard of the Marshalls :) BUT: I did enjoy your story a lot & indeed: a hat can be just as sentimental an heirloom as a watch 💪🏻

Take an evening and watch the 2006 film "We are Marshall".
A great story about resilience after tragedy.
Marshall is a college football team I sort of root for due to this story.
Good in-laws themselves are priceless.

@UnholiestJedi Yes. I’ve been extremely blessed in this area.

Great story Trevor thanks for sharing.
Totally understand the sentiment behind a hat or any item once cherished by a loved one. The hat has made full circle! Thanks for sharing 🤙❤️
What a great story. Time to put the onions away. Lol.
